I will definitely be back at Signal Hill every chance I get. All were extremely welcoming and helpful.

And don't forget the staff-I had personal contact with the pro shop attendant, the marshals, and the grounds keepers. Also, this course does not even have a driving range and the carts have no place for a cooler, so we had to have it next to our feet. Perhaps the low fee is due to the lack of course difficulty (low 100s slope rating, mid 60s USGA). She said she could get fired for doing it but when we spoke with another employee they stated that she was lying. I have never played a course that refused to give you a rain check. Ive played Signal Hill many times over the past 15 years, but today (3/15/21) the greens were in about the worst shape Ive ever seen them. The woman at the desk told us we could come back that afternoon since it didn't get dark until 8, which was really stupid to offer. We asked that they give us a rain check for 9 holes for the next day and they refused.

We waited it out for over an hour, the wouldn't let anyone back on the course for "at least an hour" after the rain stopped and we had our 2 year old with us so waiting that long to finish was not an option (lunch and naptime were fast approaching). Additionally, the day we played we made it to the 12th hole and it started to down pour. I have played a lot of courses and this one was one of the least likeable. For our 8:30 am tee time is was $50/person and should not have been more than about $25, or less.
